How to tell your husband it's time to grow up!

Break the X-box, surround sound, and big screen tv...then break it to him that a baby's on the way!

Oh yes! This in fact has been the case in our household for the last 3 months. No I did not truely break the machines, but they did one by one stop working. The TV decided not to turn on the weekend before I found out I was pregnant. My husband tried to fix it, but no luck. It's shot!! He swears I broke them on purpose...LOL! Nope, just think it was a sign babe...Time to grow up!

I'm sorry but I have a nice tv, sound system and game console. Why are those childish? I enjoy watching movies and tv. Occasionally I break out some guitar hero or just dance. That doesn't mean I can't be a good parent or I need to grow up. I'm just confused as to why those things are indicative of being childish. Maybe it's just me.

Oh wow! I did not mean to offend anyone with that post. My husband and I just thought it was funny that his toys decided to break just as the baby was announced. I like my t.v. too. We just thought it was comical.

That is really funny! If he's like DH he probably went out within the hour and replaced everything.

My husband is an awesome guy, he takes great care of us, and he is a responsible father. But sometimes I want to take a big old hammer to Call of Duty because he gets lost in it at times and doesn't realize anything going on around him! He's found a happy medium with his time on there but I swear, the house could burn down around him while he's playing and he wouldn't know.

Yeah. I really wouldn't appreciate my husband being glued to a video game system. I'm glad that's one less thing I have to be concerned about.

Let him get his days of sitting infront of his electronics for 24 hours a day out now though!

My husband is a good man at heart but he plays this really nerdy card came called Magic and sometimes he'll stay up till like 3 or 4 in the morning arranging new decks and being on websites with message boards about the game and it's caused a LOT of fights before. I've been tempted to burn all his cards, but in reality, I could never do that. He goes to work, he earns a living, he doesn't get drunk or flirt with women, he shares my faith, and he loves me a lot. If he wants to "cheat" on me with cards, at least he's at home and I know there's a lot of women out there who have it way worse than me.

This thread is great! I think a majority of us get where you're coming from and I think it's funny! ;-) yes, I also have a nice tv, surround sound, and game consoles, but there is always some truth in a stereotype!
