? about the Puffs

Everyone that is feeding their LO puffs...is your baby able to crawl with belly off the ground? My DS isn't able to do that yet and I read on the label, that is one of the requirements to eat puffs... So I haven't introduced them to him yet. Is that really a thing? Should I wait or should try it? Thanks!

Re: ? about the Puffs

  • Nope. I just started feeding them to her around 6 months when she was sitting up better. I so don't follow most of the "rules." I know my baby better than the food companies, etc. :)

She kept trying to take food off the spoon and would stick her fingers in her mouth. She was ready to start trying to feed herself.

  • I started giving the puffs when DD was making chewing motions with her mouth while eating.

Us too.  We tried bits of banana first.  Then the puffs.  She can army crawl, but not crawl with her belly off the ground.

On a side note, I just had a playdate with a baby that is one week older than DD who can go from standing to sitting by holding on to someone's hand and then stand around for awhile.  AMAZING.

  • I waited till she was 6 months to give puffs, but she started crawling belly off the ground 4 days later. I did break the puffs up into smaller pieces then though.

  • Nope. But she can pick them up with the pincer grip and once they get to her mouth she chews them. That's more important than crawling.

  • Thanks guys I am going to go and try them out today! He is able to pincer and he looks like he chews a little on his food so I'm excited to see if he is able/likes this "new" adventure! :) hehe

  • i also started around 6 months, he was still army crawling. at first he did not know what to do with them. he then figured out that throwing them on the floor was fun...the dogs love him more.  But it took him a little while to really be interested in eating them.

  • We started puffs a week or two ago & my son isn't crawling yet. He has really liked them so far and it has really improved his pincer grasp. I was nervous at first because it said that on the label too, but I wish I would have started them sooner cause it is no big deal. Smile
