I am currently taking 2mg of clonazepamn on an as needed basis for severe panic attacks. I need to take it about every other day. My doctor says to go on the lowest dose possible, however, if I am not able to it would be worse to spend the entire pregnancy in a panic state. I know this is  class D drug. Anyone in similar situation? I'm terrified of birth defects, but i'm terrified of these anxiety attacks.  I also take Lexapro which works great for depression but not anxiety.

Isn't that a muscle relaxer? Have you thought about Zoloft? That's supposed to be the safest one to take during pregnancy.

No, its kolonopin, a benzo used to treat anxiety and other disorders. It is pretty hardcore. Op, if you stop taking it, work with your doctor to wean you off of slowly. Withdrawal can cause seizures.

I agree with the PP's about trying to get yourself off that med and onto something safer for pg.

Don't go off it.  Talk to your dr again or get a second opinion.  Sometimes the risks of anxiety outweigh the risk of the meds.  If you need talk to a psych and get a second opinion.  I'm on lexapro and webutrin with klonopin as needed, but have not taken it yet

But the title of the thread is clonazepam which is a muscle relaxer. Do u know if the OP really meant kolonopin?
