Flu & EBF ?

I came down with the flu last night. DH got up with Asher and gave him a bottle during his nightly wake up. I feel a little better this morning but my MIL is going to come over today to entertain Asher so I can lay around. Should I still nurse him? I'm afraid of getting him sick. He has had a flu shot. I'm thinking that I should probably just pump. Stupid question...my milk is still ok, right? I haven't taken medicine.

This is the first time I've been sick since he's been born so I don't know what to do

Yes, keep feeding him. Your body is making antibodies to the flu now, and you can pass those on in your milk so that there's a lower chance of him coming down with the same thing. As long as you're not taking medicine, keep feeding him!

I had the flu last week and it was fine nursing Nat. She didn't get it although it us contagious. I like to think Nat got the immunities from the milk. Just make sure you wash your hands often!

For sure keep nursing! I came down with something yesterday too. The soc said that's the best thing I can do for him. Feel better soon! It's no fun being a sick mommy

Stay in bed and have someone bring him to you when he needs to eat si you can nurse him lying down. Rest up so you can feel better! Xo
