Moby/ baby wearing

It's slow around here so I thought I'd ask who has used a moby? Who is still using it? Who is baby wearing with something else?

I love my moby! I so wish I had found it with my 1st not my third, we are still using it a lot, although carrying facing out is hard because he squirms so much it makes him heavier. We still use it for shopping all the time, with 2u2 if there both in the cart there's no room for food.
I also have a scoot a baby that is a great side carrier for when they're older that I love!!
I never thought I'd be the baby wearing type until I found these carriers, I've tried 4 others that I hated. How about you?

Re: Moby/ baby wearing

  • Used the moby a lot in the first 2 months. Now I use a Mai Tai or Lilebaby most of the time as they are faster for me to put on. I sometimes use the moby if I want to nap on the couch with LO napping on top of me and I want to ensure that he can't roll off of me.

  • I still use mine. We went to Disney World a couple weeks ago, and I used it there a lot. There is a side/hip hold you can do with it. I used that quite a bit with my first.
  • I haven't used mine since DS was a month old or so... I could never quite figure it out.  I was just thinking yesterday that I should try again though!  Especially since its colder.

  • I used mine a lot when she was younger, and still use it every once in a while around the house, but I mostly use my Butterfly.  I wear her a lot when I'm out.  I also have an Ergo, but haven't used that one as much, it's not as easy for me to get on by myself.
  • I love my moby!!!! I use it mostly when running longer errands, I use my bjorn if I'm just doing a real quick errand. The bjorn is easier to put on, but I find it bothers my shoulders and neck if I wear it to long. I really want to try an ergo, but they are so expensive. I didn't wear baby #1, but it's so much easier to play outside with my first when lo is in the moby.
  • I attempted to use it once... I hated it... it was just too complicated for me... I returned it and went to the infantino carrier.

I don't use it facing out, b/c I read that their legs shouldn't be able to "flop" while walking, its bad for their hips, so I still do the inward sitting position, but off to the side on my left hip, so that he is still able to see in front of us.

I love baby wearing!!! its so much easier than lugging the car seat everywhere, and taking up so much space!

  • I have a moby, but prefer the Bjorn at the moment. DD has always hated having her legs confined, so before we could wear her with her legs out, she would flip out every time we tried to use the moby :-/

  • I have other carriers but I prefer my slings. I have a Hot Sling and a larger ring sling I made myself that I bring if I think I'll be out long enough for her to want to nap in it.  She seems way more comfortable in those vs. the other carriers, however, when we go on long walks like with the dogs, I take her in her Snugli for convenience.

  • I use my ring sling all the time for running into the grocery store or Target. She loves the hip carry and is at the stage where she hates being in the carseat but is too tiny to sit in the cart so it has been a lifesaver! We have an Ergo too that hubby uses but I prefer the ring sling.

  • I have an older style Baby Bjorn and a Mei Tai carrier and they both make my back hurt almost immediately.  I'm looking forward to when DS is a little older and I can try to carry him on my back in the Mei Tai.  I think that will be more comfortable for me.

    I never got the hang of my Moby but now I have all sorts of babywearing things... 2 woven wraps so awesome, and better than the Moby for nonnewborns, 2 ring slings great for quick up and down on the hip, a beco gemini just started using it for back carries.nbsp; I'm loving the back in the gemini right now. I'll need something with a wider seat soon, though.nbsp;

What wovens do you have and what do you like about them

  • Still babywearing every single day! I have to wear the baby when I walk the dog in the morning. I switch between the Moby Ergo. I love them both for different reasons.

You can do a back carry in a mei tai with a baby as young as a newborn. I've been back carrying Ian since he was about a month old. The key is just to get them in a high back carry.
I BW every day and so does DH, who is a SAHD. I prefer my NuzzleMe Creations mei tai and DH prefers the Boba. I'm not a wrapper and never got the hang of the Moby.

  • I love my Moby. I really do, use it all the time, I would be lost without it lol.
