Probiotic with Antibiotic?

Allison has been on antibiotics four times now for ear infections and is getting yeast infections because of it.  Do any of you give your LO a probiotic supplement?  She HATES yogurt so that isn't really an option for us but I don't want to keep dealing with the antibiotic fall out...

LO was given probiotics yesterday from the pedi because she had horrible diarrhea on amoxicillan for an ear infection.  The pedi told me it's a good idea to do yogurt or the probiotics when they are on antibiotics because it messes with their tummy balances.

Are your probiotics a prescription or did you get them OTC?

Oh yeah, every time Ry is on antibiotics we start the probiotics right away. We buy Jarro-Dophilus and put a scoop in his bottle once a day. You could mix it into any kind of food, just make sure she gets it all. It makes a huge difference for us!

We got it over the counter. The stuff we buy is powder but they also do sell a liquid form that you just give them a few drops.

Yes! I know I get yeast infections on Antibiotics if I don't take a Probiotic at the same time. Sometimes yogurt isn't enough to help. I have the Nature's Way Primadophilus Children's for DS (to help with thrush). It is powder and I put the serving in his bottle 1x a day.

We use Culturelle due to DS's never ending ear infections. We mix it into his food. If you can buy the ones with the packets, you don't have to measure anything out.

I think it's over the counter but the dr gave it to us to try.  It's called BioGaia.  It's drops.  I put 5 drops in her oatmeal in the mornings.
