kind of kills me to pay 18.99 for 50 medela storage bags....anyone use anything cheaper? cant imagine there's a difference in quality, is there? i mean arent they all just fancy ziploc bags, or is there something i'm missing? clue me in!
It's been a while, but I think I liked the medela ones because of the tape strip across the top that attached to the pump and they would stand up by themselves, so I kept getting those. My sis had First years and I didn't like them.
My fave were the Laninoh ones. You can get them at Target or BRU. They're thicker than other brands and don't get leaks as easily and have a double zipper, which I liked. I'm pretty sure they were 50 for $10 and Target occasionally puts them on sale.
I bought these reusable plastic containers designed for breastmilk storage. I loved how you could just stack them in the freezer and not worry about them falling over or trying to fit them somehow. I got them on sale at Target, and I don't know if they make them anymore it's been so long since I've needed any.

But I haven't done any scientific tests or anything, so I don't know if they work just as well as the Medela bags. I never stored frozen milk for longer than a week. ?
Re: breastmilk storage bags
I don't know how much they cost, but I'm almost postive that there is a Target brand/version of them that is cheaper.
Lasinoh and Gerber were less at Target
