Potty Training - Poop problems

Hi Ladies,

I need help with my DD and potty training. She is 100% wet trained. No nighttime accidents or nap accidents. She stops playing/eating/watching ect and takes herself to the bathroom. But for my life she will not poop in the toilet. Pullups or panties - she doesn't care as long as it's not the toilet.

So frustrated. Thanks for the help

  • Same problem here.   I have tried everything(i think) and now just being very patient with her.

  • Reward chart? Bribes for poop (m&m's, etc).

  • We're in the same boat.  We've also tried M&Ms for bribery - didn't work.  Then, we tried sticker chart with a toy she got to pick out - didn't work.

I'm back to holding her to the rule of she has to be in a pullup and she has to go to her bathroom to poop(which she wasn't doing before).

  • We had this problem for about a month and then I tried giving him Miralax.  It actually made it easier for him to go and since then, he has been fine.  Now I don't use the Miralax at all.  It just helped him figure it out.
  • I had this issue for a full yr, I knew she knew where it needed to go but she couldn't sit poop. So I took away her undies pants allowed her to stand over the little frog potty. It was still not easy but she figured it out. Just don't ba ck down once u start this. The only issue I had was getting her to use the big toliet instead of the potty chair. But that was nothing compared to poop filled undies everyday!
  • we had the same issue at 2.5 when we potty trained our son (obviously its different since this is a boy). He would stand to pee and would not sit to poop (even though we tried training to sit both times).. so he would tell me he has to go pee and just poop standing up.  We ended up putting him back in pullups full time and last month (6 months later) re-trained him and he's finally 100% potty trained.  it took only 3 days to fully potty train him.

Maybe it just isn't the right time.

  • So frustrated, DD is doing this same thing and I cant figure out what to do!
