Jersey Girls...

What's your status??

I'm up in northern NJ, and I'm happy to be at work with power/electric. We have a gas stove, so we can still cook and we have a gas water heater so we still have hot water, but nothing else. Last night after I put munchkin to bed, we lit a fire in the fireplace and snuggled up with a glass of wine. It's not so bad, I guess, except for the FREEZING cold this morning!

We were told we won't be getting anything back until the 5th... bleeeech.

Re: Jersey Girls...

  • I'm in Gloucester county and we were pretty much spared. No power lost, no water in our basement--the worst was one of our trash cans got knocked over. LOL. However, my husband teaches in Mercer county and he has off for the fourth day in a row. Seven of the schools in his district don't have power, and food is spoiling in the cafeteria. We don't know when he'll be back. Sucks, cause that means he'll be going way later in June. :-

Glad to hear you're okay. My NoJersey friends got fu*ked up with this storm.

  • We're in Union County.  Our entire town has no power - and no fix is in sight, as there is a down tree at the end of our street that pulled down the wires.  This is a similar scene throughout ours and neighboring towns, so no clue when that will be fixed - major thorougfares are a priority.  We have a generator that we run occasionally, but gas is running short and no stations are open.  DH is going to venture out tomorrow to see if he can find an open station so that we can get more fuel.  We have Natty in a few layers and to be honest she doesnt even seem to notice anything is going on. Shockingly (thankfully) she seems to be just fine without her white noise.  I have resigned to the fact that I will most likely lose my frozen breast milk supply.
