Sick, teeth, or tired?

This baby is like a little mystery sometimes.. She's been pretty fussy this afternoon and had flushed cheeks and a red nose. She's kind of been pulling on her ears but then proceeds to rub her eyes. I took her temp a couple times and it was perfect. Doesn't sound congested and her nose isn't runny. She fought sleep until I finally got her down an hour ago. I mean, she was bawling.. I played her the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow and within seconds she passed out. Can babies have an ear infection and not have a temp? Or does this sound like teething?

Yes they can have an ear infection with no fever, but it sounds more like teeth to me.
