Choroid plexus cysts not resolved at 30 weeks

Hi, ladies! I mostly lurk, but today I need some reassurance! At our 20 week u/s, we found our baby had CPCs...I freaked out a bit and was sent to a specialist who told us they were isolated and they would likely clear up by 28 weeks. Today I had my follow up u/s at almost 31 weeks and they're still there. My doctor is not concerned because they have not grown and were not found with any other marker. I'm so worried because most people find that the cysts are gone by the third tri. Has anybody experienced the cysts not resolving? I'm trying to stay calm, but it worries me! Thanks so much!

My baby girl has a cyst on her spleen that has not resolved yet (I am 36 weeks) but the doctor said it hasn't grown since they last checked it and she seems to think it will resolve once she is born. Not sure where CPCs usually occur, but that is what is going on with me. Hope everything turns out ok!

Oops, sorry! Choroid plexus cysts are on the brain...glad to hear your LO's cysts are not growing either! It's nice to hear when doctors aren't too concerned, but it's hard not to worry, as you know!

We go in next Tuesday to see if the CPCs are still there.  Sending good thoughts your way.

Our LO has bilateral CPCs that were found at her 19 week a/s.  We also went to MFM for a level II ultrasound.  The MFM doctor told us that most CPCs do resolve around 28 weeks, but not to worry if they didn't because CPCs do not pose a threat to the baby or brain function.  In fact, babies with Trisomy 18, generally have their CPCs resolve at 28 weeks as well.  The choroid plexus is just a spongy part of the brain that produces fluid.  A cyst there will not cause any complications at all.

I understand how you feel. No one want to hear that there is something on your baby's brain. We got hit with a double whammy. Not only did they find the CPC but they also found an Echo Focus on her heart at the same time. Docs have never been concerned nor have they ever rechecked her (we did have her heart checked at 36 weeks and everything was fine). I was told that they would disappear by her third birthday which is on Sunday. Try to relax and trust the doc. If you still have concerns after the baby is born, have it checked then.
