Holy slow growing follicles...but growing, good I think?

Well, my heart just sank Thursday when RE stated I was not responding to Clmid 100 as he hoped, and cx'd Friday's IUI.  Went in Sunday, and well the follies are still growing. 2 follicles (largest was 9 on Thursday, and 11 on Sunday).  Sunday was CD15.  RE wants me back in on Thursday (CD19) to see if either follicle has matured enough to trigger and schedule IUI.

Really?  IUI that late in the cycle?  Anyone else have this?  Wanted to be hopeful that IUI is still on the table this month, but I am skeptical....

Do you normally have long cycles? If so, it could be totally normal. I'm somewhat of a slow grower. I don't even schedule monitoring appts until CD 15-16 anymore. I know at that point I still won't be mature so there's no point. I've also had a follicle "growth spurt" or something where they grew a lot in a day or two. GL!

On my own I ovulated really late in cycles. This is my first IUI but I went this am (CD16) and I have an 18 and a 16 and I am triggering tomorrow night, IUI Thursday am which will be CD19.

On my one Clomid cycle (100mg), my follies stopped growing and it looked like I wasn't going to ovulate at all as of CD18 (on my own I always ovulate but usually not until CD19-20).  My RE put me on another 5 days of 100mg and then had me come back a week later and lo and behold the follies were growing and close to maturity.  I had an IUI on CD29.  It didn't work, but none of my IUIs worked so I have no idea if it had anything to do with the Clomid and/or timing.

Best of luck on your IUI!!!!!!  Glad to hear that a CD19 IUI is not out of the question.
