Hi all! I recently found out that our first IUI (on 10/11/12) was successful. Yay! My questions are: My first beta was 575. Doctor mentioned that was high and could indicate twins...has anyone had a beta that high before? Should I be hoping for 1,000+ for the 2nd beta? How far after the 2nd Beta (tmrw) can I hope for an ultrasound?
Also symptoms. I'm just cramping and sleepy off and on throughout the day. I had no spotting and not really any nausea. Is this normal? I'm only about 4 weeks...
Thanks for the help! And congrats to all other SAIF.
Re: Success after IUI, beta/symptoms question..
Here's a quick rundown...
Your lack of symptoms is totally normal. Beta does seem high, but doesn't mean anything for sure. And you should hope for a doubling, but a good rise should make you happy too. Good luck!
How many follies did you have?

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

Really though you never know till your ultrasound. Good luck!
As PP said high betas don't necessarily indicate multiples. But with 4 follies my guess is twins You want your beta to double within 48-72 hours (betabase.info will give you your exact doubling time).
I think your symptoms sounds just fine for 4 weeks. As far as getting an u/s, it varies by clinic. My RE does them at about 6 weeks. But you could ask for one at about 5 weeks since your betas are high. You might be able to see how many sacs there are but probably wouldn't see a heartbeat yet.
Good luck!

My beta this time at 16dpo was 1353 so it could be just one (or it could be more). You just have to wait for that first u/s.

Yeah 17 dpiui is not too early to have a number that high. I had 851 on that day and DON'T have twins. If you want to obsess over the beta number some more (and why not!), have you tried betabase.info?
And I forgot to say, Congrats! Keep us updated.

Thank everybody for the support! I'm going crazy now cause I had my 2nd Beta this morning and have yet to hear back from the doctor. I got lucky on Sunday and got a call an hour after the blood draw. This time? Going on 5 hours. Ugh!
