What do you make of this?

Yesterday and today, L has had dried blood on her ear in the morning. It's not a lot, but there's no obvious source. We just took a wet q-tip and gently washed the blood off. She does have a nervous habit of grabbing at her ear when she's upset, but she doesn't do it much, and hasn't been doing it more than usual that I've observed.

Should I be concerned about this, or not?

  • This is Colton all the time. It's usually because I've cut his fingernails at a weird angle and the grow back sharp- then he scratches his ear in his sleep.

  • I would think that if it doesn't look like it's coming from inside the ear, it's really nothing to worry about. I would just assume that she pulled on it and scratched it in the process.

  • DS commonly has small spots of dried blood or tiny scabs in his right ear, he scratches it a lot. Like PP said, I often notice it when his nails are long or if there is a sharp angel when they are cut.  So long as its not from inside her ear, I don't think you have to worry.
