Dumbest political comment EVER:

My grandma told me today that my uncle got into a political discussion with a coworker, who said that voting McCain/Palin was too risky because McCain is old and could die in office and leave Palin the Presidency.  My uncle's response:

"That's like saying that because Obama is black, he's a gang member who's going to get shot.  It's stereotyping him because of his age."

Ummm....WHAT?!!?!  That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  Last time I checked, "Old people die" was a scientific fact, whereas Obama being a gang member is not.  (But could you imagine if he were?  "Now, look.  Regarding the issue of placing a cap in your ass, I have always maintained that I support such measures without preconditions.") 

That's right up there with, "I voted for Prop 8 because if we let gay couples get married, what's to stop people from marrying cats?"  I heard that from a relative today, too. 

My head is going to explode.

cubby - my DH and I caught this incredibly stupid, but brilliant in a way, movie called "idiocracy" when we were getting our free cable movie channels.  You need to see it just because the "cap in your a$$" thing is pretty close to some of the stuff that the president in this movie says

"S, S's all f-ed up" is the beginning of the state of the union.

 Sorry this isn't related to the OP but that Idiocracy is so stupid it's funny. My favorite line is "welcome to Costco, I love you" Cracks me up whenever DH says it.
