When your ovulating & DH is tired...how do u make it happen?!

DH was extremely tired, but I made him have whoopie anyways last night! We've been trying for almost a yr, but DH's hours our different than most and its been hard to get in quality time together.

So how do you make it happen??

Morning sex sometimes, sex every other day cd 7thru 19. And I never tell him when I'm ovulating. He didn't like the pressure.

sometimes you just have to power through...thats when preseed comes in handy

We do it as soon as h gets home from work. H is very tired after work since his job is physically demanding so it's important we do it before he sits down for the night and doesnt have the energy. We have been together for 14 years. I think the baby making has reminded us that we can make time for sex if we want to instead of being so routine about it. I think it's been a good thing. I hope it stays that way.

Sometimes we just flat out pretended we were into it, and then it turned real. Sometimes we talk about what we find sexy, which can get us in the mood. Sometimes I play the ipod really loud on a song I really like and transfer the feeling. And honestly, some days we just "knocked" until the door opened. I think we've only given up completely once, maybe twice. I kinda like the poster who said she didn't tell her husband when she was ovulating. If this IVF doesn't work and we dry again naturally, I would try that approach. Good luck (it sucks when sex isn't fun anymore.)

Totally agree with the ladies already posting. I've also found that sometimes instead of seduction, humor about it lightens the mood as well. We will laugh about the fact we've got to do the deed on a schedule or make Barry White-like comments or whatever and laughing together makes us feel connected. Admittedly, it probably works because we've been trying so long that DH asks "should we be doing it?" but sometimes sex isn't exactly about feeling horny, it's about feeling close.

Thanks for posting this question. It has so applied to me, too.  At the beginning, if I knew it was going to be a day that DH would work late or be exceptionally tired (Mondays/Fridays) I would try to dress up in lingerie and try to be more "sexy."  But 6 months later, that can be a little harder to do.   We get up so early for work that BD'ing in the morning is just too hard.  I don't have a problem with me getting into the groove, but it can be harder for him. I try not to stress too much about it. If we only get 2 days in, then so be it.  I found the more pressure I put on him to perform, the harder it is for him to do it.  I agree with another poster...I try to "pounce" on him as soon as he gets home from work, otherwise he is too tired. I might try naughty text messages during the day to help build him up.

Anyhoo, this was a nice reminder for me to keep trying to set the scene.

I was thinking about this post last night! We had to evacuate because of Sandy, and since my cycle this month is a little up in the air. I told DH that yesterday after we boarded the house, turn off and moved everything we could, loaded both cars and only had us and the cats left.

I said DH it's time, we are going to be trapped with my parents for possibly 2-5 days depending.....so its now or never...his spirit was willing his body was hesitant, took ALOT of creativity on my part to get everyone "in the groove"
