Hi ladies,
I went into labor yesterday at my weekly appointment. Dilated to 5cm, but now I'm stuck despite increasing contractions. I've been laboring for 27 hours now. Have tried walking a lot and bouncing on the birthing ball, but they aren't doing anything to help dilate. My doctor says she can't stop labor at this point but also can't give me anything to help progress since I'm not term and water is not broken. She is giving me intramuscular morphine and benadryl at 5 because she thinks my body might be too tired to progress on its own.
I don't think frustrated fully describes my feelings right now.
UPDATE: Thank you for all the love, ladies. No babies yet! The morphine and resting has slowed down my contractions, and I'm waiting to hear word from my doctor about what the plan is. Right now, they are not encouraging me to attempt to labor further, and I'm on strict BR with bathroom privileges. Will update again tonight, if possible. Hugs to all of you!
Re: Labor Limbo! (Updated)
Hang in there. You guys a sooooooo close. You're going to have two little pumpkins here in time for Halloween. So awesome. I agree with your doc on being too tired.. My labor with both girls stalled for several hours after I reached 3-4 with them, and didn't kick back up until I got epidurals with each and fell asleep for a few hours. I hope the opiates and antihistamines help

I hope you are able to get some rest!! My labor stalled around 7 or 8 and it was determined to be "asynclitical" mostly because A's head was off to the side preventing normal dilation, or something like that..Since B then went breech, I chose to go ahead with a c/s at 34w5d.. You're almost there!!
hang in there.. you've done a fantastic job!!!!
