At an u/s today the technician asked "Has anyone talked to you about the shape of your uterus?" I said no, why? Then she said "It's heart shaped, but it's not a big deal"..... Well Mr. google seems to disagree. Does anyone else have this issue?
Why do docs and techs do that? If it isn't a big deal, then shut the heck up about it, right? Or just level with me about why it's even worth acknowledging in the first place. Sigh. Sorry you had to experience that. I say bring it up with the OB at the next appt.
I found out during my hsg testing that my uterus is tilted forward. I was also told it wasn't a big deal. It probably did encourage the placenta and baby to implant in the front causing an anterior placenta. I haven't had any issues at all. I've made a rule for myself not to google any concerns until I have reason to think its a concern ha. Google is a mean mean place.

From what I understand, the severity of the indent, makes the difference. A deep indent means a bicornutae uterus which can raise complications, but is not something that prevents a healthy pregnancy/birth. Less of an indent is considered a variation on normal, and is sometimes referred to as accurate. I have been told mine isn't too deep, but my a/s is Thursday and I plan to ask more questions while they have the image up.
Maybe give your doctor a call tomorrow and tell him/her what the tech said and ask some questions. But try not to worry and step away from Dr. Google.

I have a bicornuate uterus that they didn't discover until this pregnancy. My OB said that there is no research to support it being related to stillbirth so it didn't have anything to do with my daughter's death. She said that the biggest issues were preterm labor (not an issue with my daughter) and breech babies (also not an issue with my daughter.) I'm not too worried about it as long as growth is normal.

Agree with this. When we went to the ER for an u/s during our last pregnancy and right before the tech told me there was no heartbeat, he told me I have a tilted uterus and asked if we had any trouble getting pregnant because it's hard to get pregnant with a tilted ute - wtf? So then at my follow up appointment after the m/c with my actual dr I asked about it and she said to not listen to the ER tech because he has no idea what he's talking about. She also told me that every gyn I have seen has known I had a tilted uterus, but that it's not a big deal at all and not even something worth mentioning.
