If you had a kid and DH free weekend

WWYD?

DH is going to a big pro Magic tournament next month to sell most of his cards and such. So he will be gone for 3 days pretty much. Since I will be about 34-35 weeks pregnant, I decided to get my Mom to take Rosie for the weekend. I just know I will be too tired, uncomfortable, and I have no patients. So I was dreading being with Rosie alone for 3 days. My Mom offered to watch her instead. So, WTH do I do? I haven't had that much alone time in ages.

  • You should do the following:

    Movie

    Pedicure/Mani

    Haircut

    Shopping

    Bath

    Read a book

    Watch your favorite shows

    Order take out favorite food

    and do absolutely nothing!

  • At 34 or 35 weeks pregnant, I'd be spending any free time that I could get being pampered. Massage, Mani, Pedi, Hair washed and cut. If money were a concern at that point, you'd probably find me in a bubble bath.

Do you have any friends nearby? Maybe you can set up a lunch date or watch a movie either in theatre or at your house.

  • I would make a bee line for my BFF s house.  She lives about 6 hours away. Otherwise I would go shopping, go to a movie, rent movies, enjoy the quiet.
  • Sleep in on Saturday, going shopping by myself, get my eyebrows waxed, take a nap or watch crappy TV or maybe read, order takeout, watch a movie (*ooh or go to the movie theater), go to bed and sleep in again on Sunday!

  • Sleep in, go shopping, meet friend for lunch.  Pedicure, massage.  Everything PPs said.  Have fun!

    I am so jealous.

  • I'm Bean and DH-free until next Sunday.  I've painted 3 pieces of furniture and done have some shopping.  I'm planning on getting lots of projects done around the house that would take 17 times longer if they were here.

I was really excited about being on my own for a big, but I miss my Beanie so much.  I feel like I have a hole in my heart.

  • I am jealous.

I would stay home and do absolutely nothing besides screw around on the computer and sleep. I might watch a movie or tv show that DH would never approve of. I wouldn't have to clean because there would be no one making a mess.

Did I mention I am jealous.

  • I have a feeling that I will make a to do list of things for the baby and the house. Get 1 or 2 things done or started. Then chuck it all out and eat an entire thing of brownies watching bad TV and eat all Popsicles while enjoying many baths. I'm just afraid I will go crazy due to boredom.

All of this, plus a prenatal massage.

  • I did watch GoodFellas in the middle of the afternoon today.  That was pretty awesome.

  • Honestly, after I had a sleep in and some quiet reading time I would declutter and organize like a madwoman.  I think I am the only nonpackrat person in the house, and with three kids the toy situation is totally out of control.  I know they wouldn't even notice if I got rid of half their toys, and I would love to organize the rest, but it is impossible to do with them around!!

  • Sleep, sleep, sleep. Eat a hot meal. Sleep. Relish the silence. Sleep. Go to Target alone.

    Did I mention sleep?

  • I'd do whatever the eff I wanted to and savor the alone time. I wouldn't do anything house, baby, toddler or husband related (like laundry, vacuuming). Seriously, this is your last down time for a while- and it's a brilliant idea, a few days alone before number 2 comes. Enjoy it.

I think this is a good idea - I always feel energized and ready to go in the morning, so I would probably do a small project or some of the cleaning/organizing that's hard to do with DH/DD around in the mornings (after, of course, enjoying a relaxing breakfast/cup of coffee), and then do more fun and relaxing things in the afternoons like pps mention. A more night-owl-ish person might reverse that, and save some small projects for the evening when you're antsy. OH I would also REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoy reading some trashy magazines/browsing through catalogs while watching tv in the evening. This was my way to unwind pre-baby.

  • I would lay in bed all day and watch mindless TV.  I haven't done that since DS was born.

I might leave the house to eat something delicious but bad for me.

  • I've been needing one of these weekends for a while now! I would totally curl up in my recliner with a good book, catch up on all the shows I have on the DVR that I never get a chance to watch, and sleep all I want. BLISS. Pure BLISS.

  • sleep, sleep, sleep, eat, sleep, sleep, go to bathroom without a child watching, sleep, sleep, shower without a child watching or calling "Mommy", sleep, sleep

  • I agree with eat, sleep, repeat thing.  I would also hit up the Casino because I'm like that.  Booyah!
  • I'm not gonna lie, I read the title wrong as "If you and your DH had a kid free weekend", and the answer of course would be sex. Lots and lots of sex. Then sleep. Then more sex.
