Introducing formula to a BFed baby?

I have a friend that would like to introduce the occasional formula bottle to her BFed daughter, who is 4.5 months.  The baby has rejected all formula, so she asked me for some ideas and I suggested mixing the two, having her husband give it, but those haven't worked.  The baby takes a bottle of milk just fine, only will not touch formula.  Any other tips I could pass along?

Tell her to try mixing the bottle: 1/2 formula, 1/2 breastmilk.  That's how I transitioned and didn't have a problem.  Then she can gradually add more formula and less BM.

With Evan, I had to start with a much higher ratio of breastmilk. ?I used 5 oz of breastmilk with 1 oz of formula. ?After a couple of days, I did 4 oz bm and 2 oz of formula. ?Eventually he'd take straight formula.
