Ryan David and Dylan Christopher are here. Monday night while sitting on the couch my water broke at 10 pm in unmistakable gushes. It happened 10 minutes after DH got home from a job. We both changed, threw a few last minute items into our hospital bag and headed out. I was admitted and began to progress on my own. The first 2 hours were pain free lighter contractions, the next 5 hours were awful - non stop contraction on top of each other. This is the point at which I received an epidural which made everything better. I highly recommend the epidural. I continued to labor until 6pm on the 16th. This is when I had been stalled out for so long at 6cm that my dr decided we need to do a c-section. Even though I knew there was a chance, emotionally I was at a low when she said it and the tears just started flowing, but I did agree with her and our boys were here within a 1/2 hour of making that decision.
Ryan was born first on 10/16/12 at 6:27 weighing 5lbs 14oz, 20 inches long. Dylan immediately followed weighing 5lbs 13oz, 18 3/4 inches long. Both sporting a full head of back hair. I got to see them for a minute before they were taken to the NICU for transitional breathing issues. DH went with them. Dylan worked out the issues on his own. Ryan had too much fluid in his lungs and had to be intubated and on a hand ventilator to get some of that fluid out, the entire process taking less than an hour. I feel so guilty thinking that if I could have pushed him out vaginally the fluid would have cleared on it's own.
Both boys are still in the NICU. It's likely I'll be released before they will, which breaks my heart, but I know they won't be far behind. The dr keeps telling us that they are the healthiest babies in the NICU and will be fine. They were born at 37w5d.
The c-section itself was a breeze and I'm recovering well. With enough medication, the pain is manageable.
And now the good stuff:

Congrats mama,what precious boys!
Don't feel guilty for one second! You did a terrific job carrying those guys for a long time, allowed them to grow strong and big,and gave it your best attempt at a vaginal delivery. All of that is worth being very proud of.
Hope they are home with you soon!
Congrats on those two beautiful boys!!!! I wish you a speedy and easy recovery and that those boys come home soon!
