Cloth Diapering

Question on the inner gusset patent

I know Rumparooz holds the patent for inner gussets, but I am making diapers at home for the twins and for DS. I don't know why I would skip the gussets just because of a patent, when I would prefer them in my diapers. What are your thoughts? I honestly think it is not a big deal if I am using them for my own kids, but what if I sell them to family or friends when we are done having LO's? It is frustrating because it is like they own the whole idea of inner gussets!

Re: Question on the inner gusset patent

  • I think that as long as you are not manufacturing and selling the diapers then you're fine. If I'm not mistaken there is a patent on pocket openings on diapers as well but that doesn't stop the hundreds of WAHM's who make and sell diapers.

  • That is what I was thinking. It would be such a waste of time for me to make diapers if I am not making them how I want them..... they would never get used!
