Genetically modified formula! This is scary!

They are are petitioning in my town to have GMO, labeling mandatory and this video was shared.

And this is what was posted about it on my local moms group.
"Momma's this is about your baby's formula... it isn't just the soy formula but also the other types if they have corn. GMO's are believed to cause autisme, allergies, behavioural problems, sterility, and infertility. Get educated!"

Mmmm...I would be careful with anything that says it causes autism. They don't know what causes it and this kind of thing causes unnecessary panic.

I know they don't know what causes it; however they are always trying to find out too. Either way, I don't want to he consuming genetically modified products, that couldn't be good for anyone! And even if this study was proved wrong, it's not as detrimental as the vaccines one. It is just making parents aware of healthier options.

Yes, it would be nice if GMO foods were labeled so we could at least make a decision on whether or not we want to consume them.  Right now, it could be in anything - supposedly if something is labeled organic it cannot be GMO, but who knows if that's even true any more.  I put nothing past Monsanto :-(

That's the thing! At least it they were labeled! You're right though, even with the organic label, it's tough to say.

California has a proposition on its ballot in regards to Geneticlly Engineered Foods Labeling.  I really hope it passes.  I'm a major label reader and I'd be curious to see if foods I currently consume have been hiding something on their labels.

I know what you mean. I'm big on label reading too, especially if it's something my little man will be eating... if only everything was as safe as breast milk!

I read labels, too.  But I am not so concerned about GMO.  We live in a world of 7 billion people.  We are eventually going to have to find better and more efficient strains of crops and ways of growing those crops to be able to feed everyone.  And there have been no linkages shown in reputable science journals between GMO and any diseases or syndromes.  So, I guess I just think that all this hype is all just an unfounded scare tactic.  But I have been wrong before...
