DS's obsession with my hair...

anyone else? Kevin grabs my hair all of the time! More so when I am rocking him to sleep even if it is pulled back he grabs it at the root at the nape of my neck. Seriously this child is going to make me bald. I try to sub my hair with a lovey which he does go for sometimes but if he is upset forget it, it's my hair or bust. Anyone have any suggestions on how to break this or is this something he will just grow out of?

Yes!! It hurts so bad. She especially loves to grab it right at my temples where it hurts like heck.

I gently grab her hands and say, "No, baby, no hair pulling!" I doubt it's actually working but I hope she eventually gets it.

yes!! it is either hair, glasses, or earrings! even if i put my hair up she will find a stray hair to pull! i havery started saying "no" and moving her hand away but currently she just smiles and/or laughs at me so i really have no advice but you are not alone!

Lucia loves my hair!  I also say 'no' and move her hand away.  Not that that's helping, but I figure it's a good habit to get into.

Yes, she loves me hair. Even when it's in a pony tail, she reaches behind me for it. You know those soft little "baby hairs" near the hairline that some people have? She's been ripping mine out. Now they're all short and stick up super funny.

Yep! Grabs two hands full and pulls all the time. It's really sweet though, when he grabs with both hands and pulls me to him to kiss me. Other than that it hurts and I just grab his harm, peel my hair out of his hands, and tell him "easy". Yeah, that's going about as good as "easy" with him grabbing the cat and dog, lol!  If I'm carrying him, from room to room, or through a store or something, he'll sometimes grad a handful and "hold" on.  I don't mind that part either.

Aria has started this thing where if she's nervous or scared (like in larger-than-she-likes crowds, or if we're talking to a "stranger") she'll stick her little hand up in the hair at the nape of my neck. Then she'll just lightly rub my head/hair with her fingers. She does this sometimes when she's sleepy too. I love it.

If she's pulling it hard just to pull it, I'll gently pull her hand away and say "no baby, that hurts Mommy". Then she'll laugh. Rinse, repeat.

Yes, Eli loves my hair! Like others, I remove his hand and tell him no.

Yes!! And he only does it to me. I just keep saying "no" in a really stern voice when he does it but he normally laughs at me.

If they play with my hair I don't mind (I actually like that), but they tend to find those little short hairs that KILL when they pull them.  Olivia has also started hitting a lot when she gets excited.  I do the same thing and say "No! We don't pull hair" when they do it, and with Olivia's hitting I do the same and then put her down if she won't stop and say "I can't hold you if you're going to keep hitting me".  None of it has had any effect so far...

My DD does the same! I have to pull my hair back when I'm holding her but she's found a way to grab at those baby hairs and wow does that hurt!
I have no advice sadly, I wish someone did!

Yes! He loves to grab handfuls, especially when I'm trying to get him to bed and he's fighting sleep. My standard response is to unclench his hand while saying "let go please" over and over again. I do the same thing with anything he grabs that he isn't supposed to.

thankfully DD only grabs it when its down and kinda in her face already. That said, Ive taken to wearing a ponytail 90% of the time lately! It was funny yesterday bc I went to visit work, and my dept head was holding her, and she was pulling her hair

Yup!  He grabs it all the time, especially if it is down.  And he tries to eat it!   So, it hurts and the ends get all slobbery.  I do tell him it hurts and to not do it, so we'll see if that sticks someday.
