Hi ladies,
This is a casual check-in for those of us who are "widows" on Sundays while DH is glued to the tube. Feel free to tell us what's going on today, complain about football or whatever else!
What's on the agenda for today?
And a GTKY: What's the worst thing for you about football?
Re: Sunday football widows check-in
Still on bedrest, so unfortunately I am trapped in the house and can't do anything while DH watches fb alllll day. I guess I am gonna sort some pix on the computer, hopefully win an ebay auction, play w/ DD a little? I dunno. I am really feeling kinda sorry for myself today; normally I use Sundays to get out & do fun things w/ DD or at the very least get the house organized and I can't do anything.
The worst thing for me about football is that EVERYTHING grinds to a halt on Sundays because of football. DH sits on the couch from 9 or 10 am until 6 or 7 pm. He will argue that he's getting things done "in between", but what that really means is that it takes him all day long to say, do the breakfast dishes and 1 load of laundry. Then Sunday nights he's scrambling to bathe DD, pick up the house and get organized for the week until like midnight. Happens every week and then he gets grumpy Sunday nights because there's too much to do and he "doesn't have enough time". Meanwhile we have multiple fix-up projects that just sit. This is all amplified by the bed rest; since I can't do anything there is a LOT of catch up that needs to happen on the weekends and it's not getting done. I told DH last year that we would never again embark on a fix-up project during football season because it takes twice as long since he only spends 1 weekend day on it. Well, then I got bed rested in July, multiple projects still in progress. Ugh. This is torture. I can't WAIT until I can get up!
You would think that the worst thing would be that every few years, my bday falls on Super Bowl Sunday weekend
That's pretty yucky too.

Felt pretty gross today, and it's the first day in two weeks I haven't had to work or go anywhere, so I was lazy and chilled out at home all day. Even took a nap, and shaved my legs!
The worst thing about football for me is how loud it is. I am sensitive to sound as it is, and our apartment is a wide open loft style, so when the TV is on the sound is EVERYWHERE. The yelling, the whistles, the commercials, the commentators... But, the bright side is that we have cordless headphones, so when I get sick of it DH puts them on and I get some peace and quiet!
