You mentioned in an earlier post about backing up an email account to your hard drive. How do I do this? 

I, too, have been writing my son emails since before he was born and I want to make sure it's safe/protected. Help!

Do you have an email client on your computer (like Outlook)?  You can set up client to download and then back-up your files.  You can always download to a specific folder to keep it out of your inbox.  I would also check your email provider. Some offer back-up programs that will allow you to download a back-up file of your emails.  I don't have a lot of specifics because I already download my email into Outlook and have an external drive that backs-up my system.
