For those of you who use them, where do you find good crock pot recipes? Not the type that involved putting in a jar of premade salsa, but recipes that you make from scratch?
When I look, I can only find the two ends of the spectrum - either just put in a jar of this, a can of that, which isn't what I want. Or else they use fancy cuts of meat, and you have to do something new to the pot every 2 hours, and I can't do that while I'm gone to work.
H is taking 3 physics courses this quarter, and they are killing him. He's never home, and with me gone to nanny most weekdays, I can't keep up around here, and get home and get dinner cooked without his help with Lucia. I need some more easy meals, and I think the crockpot would be a good solution, but I can't find any good recipes!
Thanks!
Re: Crock pot recipes
I'm not sure of a certain website, but a favorite recipe of mine is to buy a whole chicken and clean it. Put it in the crockpot on low with seasonings- salt, garlic, pepper, etc. The chicken will cook and make gravy. I usually toss in carrots and potatoes a few hours before it's done and they cook too. The chicken is soooo tender, it makes so much, and you can make some stuffing or mashed potatoes and it tastes like Thanksgiving! So good, so easy, and from scratch!
I also use spark people for recipes for crockpot- they're all healthy, but not necessarily from scratch.
Here's a tasty chicken and dumplings recipe. Yes, you use premade biscuits but that's it:

I also make the cream soup base, because I don't like eating canned foods:

I find that you need to be generous with salt, otherwise it is a bit bland.
I haven't made any of these yet but I pinned it on Pinterest the other day with a plan of planning ahead more for meals.
