Daylights savings time in the fall was really awesome when I was in college because we got an extra hour of bar time. Now that I have a baby, I'm not looking forward to it at all. I meant to ask Asher's pedi at his appt yesterday if there is anything I can do to start preparing him for the time change but I forgot. Is anyone changing their bedtime routine now in hopes of making the transition easier? Moms of 2+, anything that you have in the past done that works?
Re: Daylight Savings
Aria's a bit picky about bedtime, so we've been trying to transition her slowly. A little over a week ago, we started pushing bedtime back by 10 minutes. We'll do this for a day or two until Aria is doing well with it, then we'll push it back a little more. The first 5 days or so weren't fun... but it's getting better now.
Normally we start our bedtime routine (bath, lotion, bottle, rocking, bed) at 7:45, and Aria's in bed asleep by 8:30. I would like to keep it that way after the time change. If we're not home by the time we need to start "bedtime" (or somewhere that we can do our starting routine), Aria starts to get a bit cranky. Most of the time we just make sure we're home, but I'd really like to be able to be out with her just a bit later than that. Ideally, I'd like to start at 8:30 and in bed by 9, but right now that's just not happening.
