NBR - "fashion" question

Do you belt your cardigans buttoned or unbuttoned?  I posted a week or so ago about a brunch I'm going to and wasn't sure if it should be partially buttoned like up to the boob area or unbuttoned?  I'm thinking not buttoned all the way but maybe partial button to keep it from getting bunched up?  I'm wearing a cardigan over a dress, with a wide (2 inch?) double buckle belt.  Thanks!

Re: NBR - "fashion" question

  • I usually leave my cardies unbuttoned when I wear a belt over, I have never found them bunchy.

  • I don't usually wear cardigans, but I would say partial button - I think it is visually more appealing and tends to accentuate curves.in a flattering manner :-)

If I'm remembering correctly it's a longer cardigan, right?  If that's the case I would belt it open all the way down.

I had to get the traditional cardigan because the longer mixed tape wouldn't ship until November.  So this cardigan isn't quite as long, it is right at my hip where it hits if that matters or changes anything?

With a traditional cardigan, I would probably leave it unbuttoned with a wide belt. With a narrow belt, I would button it halfway.

This, and to me it would depend on where the buttons stop compared to where the belt sits. They should be at that same point on your waist if you're buttoning them, kwim?

  • Yes I know what you mean. If I button it then the belt will start where the button stops so it wouldn't be like unbuttoned belt unbuttoned. It would be unbuttoned belt buttoned from top down if that makes any sense.

But I think I will leave it unbuttoned and try it that way! Thanks ladies!
