Blender recs please?

Anyone? My POC Black and Decker finally bit the dust the other day and DH says I can get anything reasonably priced 
(read: not a Vitamix or the like, definitely under $150). I need something with power that I don't have to help along to get thicker things down to the bottom b/c it creates that annoying "air pocket" or that smells every time I run it like the one I had. I do use it for larger batches of baby food to freeze a lot so IDK how I would feel about a "bullet."

We have the Ninja system and absolutely love it.  It comes with a large blender, a small blender, and 2 other smaller food prep blenders.  We make smoothies in it almost everyday and I have made all of Ava's baby food from it, takes less than 30 seconds to blend just about anything.  Super easy to clean up, no smell or mold issues.

My black and decker just did the same thing!! I got a cuisinart. Not sure of the model name but it has 4 different containers that you can use to blend stuff in that then become your "cup". I love it!

we have the Ninja one too! We got it before it started showing up on store shelves so ours has 2 pitchers and one smaller one. We love it and still use it for smoothies and protein shakes. Worked great for making purees too.
