Referral to an RE :(

CD3 bloodwork and DH SA came back. I'm getting referred to the IVF clinic by my house for low AMH. She basically told me my eggs are like that of a late 30 year olds. I'm 26. Hypothyroid. I've been on Synthroid for 5 years. I'm on 50mcg right now, but my TSH came back at .16 which is low (I could feel that changing). Here are my results:

Me:

FSH - 8.1

E2 - 33

LH - 5.4

AMH - .88

DH's analysis was normal except Morphology. It's at 6.5% - amorphous heads.

Could I please get some help with interpretation/experiences/knowledge? Does anyone know if these levels are greatly affected by my thyroid being low?

TIA.

I am not versed on IF or low AMH. I am interested to see the information and hope someone very knowledgable can answer your questions.

The best I can do is let you know I am so sorry you are going through this and I hope that IVF is successful. FX for you.

I don't know much about AMH.  I do know that unregulated thyroid problems can lead to TTC issues.  Do you have an endocrinologist that you see for your thyroid?  What method was used to evaluate morph?  Strict Kruger or WHO?

Hey lovie! I am sorry for the news that your numbers were a little out of what they want for your age!!

I am so glad though they were able to catch this info now, instead of later ya know. I guess they are talking IVF with you? I know with thyroid it can interfere with the ttc process, but not sure of the ins and outs. Are you seeing an specialist for your hypothyroid?

I know my RE just said that usually that CD3 b/w tells them how much med dosage to give and time you have basically, From what I gathered ( no expert) it is not the end all, and with the proper guidance by both dr.'s you should be good.

I am again sorry to have this rock thrown in your path, but hopefully they can get you on a great treatment plan so you can kick it right on out of the way. <3 Stay encouraged!

Again, someone with no experience on what you're dealing with. I just wanted to tell you that it isn't a bad thing being referred to an RE. They will be able to help you figure out the best way for YOU to conceive. Your RE will also get your thyroid issues under control, at least you have an all on one doctor now.

    Good luck!

I am sorry. I don't know much about thyroid issues and TTC, but I don't think it can affect egg quality, which is what seems to be the primary issue.   I will add that your H's morph is still normal...the cut-off for abnormal is 4% (ETA, for kruger scale).   GL!

    Your thyroid being off could be driving your other numbers that are off. Your FSH is higher than what is wanted, and your AMH is low which is how those two should read in relation to each other. Getting your thyroid levels back on track and then retesting those numbers will probably be the first course of action.nbsp;Your E2 is at the lower level which is what you want which is a good indicator that you may respond well to stimulation. TWSSnbsp;

Thank you. I was wondering if I would be responsive to stimulation. My thyroid just recently became weird. One of my nodules disappeared but a new one popped up so I knew it would mess with my levels.

Thank you to all the ladies for your kind words and encouragement. Im pretty sad tonight and honestly just confused and it seems surreal.

I'd definitely recommend that you get your thyroid straightened out and then redo the bloodwork.  The RE will probably want to do a SA with Strict Kruger for morph.  Good luck!

just as an FYI, and I only found this out w/ in the last few months from both my RE and Endo. It can effect your egg quality only if it is an autoimmune disease (hashimotos and/or graves). The antibodies from these AIs can sometimes also be found in your ovaries which may lead to DOR.

OP, I agree w/ GM if your thyroid levels are off they can throw other hormon levels off, so the first step will probably be to lower your Meds and retest.

    good luck.

I was originally diagnosed with Hashimoto's and an enlarged goiter, but since starting Synthroid it quickly moved over to Hypothyroidism. I'm calling the endo first thing this morning to get my dosage upped.

    Thank you!

I don't have any input on the labs but I just wanted to say that I understand. I actually hadnbsp;a hard time making the call to an RE. I saw it as a failure on my part to do something that I'd always hoped and wished would happen without medical intervention.
Now I see it as a new path. I try to think of it in the way that this person the RE is going to work aggressively to help me get pregnant not that I look forward to some of the possible things I may have to do.... I talked to some friends who reminded me that an OB's job is to care for you when you're pregnant. An RE specializes in getting you there.
I'm sorry you're in that position now, but I hope that the RE can help give you some answers and get you pregnant!

Thank you Cle. Im trying not to jump ahead and freak out as hard as it is. Im looking forward to getting answers from the RE.

Thanks for your support again ladies.
