Pain/throbbing in veins?

I've noticed over the last couple weeks that every once in a while I get a sort of painful throbbing feeling in my hand, wrist or thigh that feels like it's coming from inside my veins. It's uncomfortable but not super painful, and usually goes away after a couple minutes. Of course, my PgAL brain went straight to blood clots. I don't have any history of such, and had all normal blood work at my last appointment (though I don't know anything about blood clots or what indicates them).

I have my next appointment on the 22nd and plan to bring it up then. Anyone else experienced anything like this or know what it could be? I'm hoping it's nothing, and that I'm just being my usual hypochondriac self.

  • I haven't experienced what you're going through but I do think that if it was a blood clot, the area would look red and/or be hot to the touch (I think, I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere).  I would just keep an eye out for anything like that but if you're seriously worried, just call and ask!  I hope it goes away soon :)

  • I'm sure it's fine and just a result of your increase in blood flow. I agree that if it were a clot it would be VERY swollen, painful, and hot to touch. I haven't experienced your symptom, but I do notice the effects of increased blood flow in my body too.
