teething advice needed

My 8 month old is having a tough time with teething. Super drooly, diaper rash, hard time sleeping, and super cranky at night. Any advice for what might have worked for your teething baby? My older DD sailed through teething, so this is new ground for us. Many thanks.

Re: teething advice needed

  • The two things that helped my DD the most were ice cubes in the mesh feeder and frozen wash cloths.  Just wet one corner of the wash cloth before freezing so that most of it is soft and easy to hold.

  • Orajel and Ibuprofen...that's the only thing that's really done anything for us.

  • We used Camillia.  It always seemed to work when he really needed it.

I also gave him a sippy cup with a silicone spout.  He'd chew it up and play with the water.  Which kinda distracted him from his pain a bit.

A friend used Hylands Calms Forte for the sleeping issues.   It's homeopathic but I'd check with your Dr.

  • We use the Hyland's teething tablets and Tylenol before bed on the occasions that it seems like they're really uncomfortable.  We don't have mesh feeders so we've also put an ice cube in a wash cloth and let them chew on that while we hold it and given them carrots to chew on.
