Lynn and Lynell are family names on both sides for us. Rosa was my grandmother. I like the idea of having our own variation on the name. We had picked out Evelyn Rose for DS if he had been a girl, but a friend recently named her daughter Evelyn. DH still loves the name and thinks we should use it since our friends are in the military and will be moving within a few years anyway. I'm on the fence. We might call her Rose for the first few years if we go this route.
I thought Rosalyn would be a nice combination of the two. I also found out that Pres. Jimmy Carter's wife was named Rosalynn and they are related to my family, so that's kind of cool. I'm not sure which spelling I prefer- though my spell checker say Rosalyn is correct. Middle name would be Elizabeth, another family name that I love.
WDYT?
Re: WDYT? Rosalyn/Evelyn
We have similar naming styles.
I prefer Evelyn. It is on our short list if we ever have a girl.
(I have a Liam too )

Maybe I'm pronouncing it incorrectly. I would say it "roe-sah-lyn." Would you say "Rah-za-lyn?"
Both names are pretty-- I think I like Evelyn a tiny bit more.
Rosalyn is the name of a town near me, and the locals pronounce it Rah-zah-lynn.
