Jumperoo doesn't spin well

MIL just bought LO a Jumperoo last week. LO loves it! She's just tall enough to use it and bounce from the floor. However, she never does make the seat spin around to use the other toys. She tries to reach the other toys that are "behind" her, but just twists her upper body to reach. Is this normal for the Jumperoo? The seat is supposed to spin according to the instructions and pics, and I can spin it with my hands when LO is not in it, but not easily. Any thoughts?

I would contact Fisher Price and see if they can maybe send you a new seat!

Mine is this way too and it is almost 4 years old. Once they can really gain some ground, they tend to be able to spin a bit better.

Mine is brand new, but i don't know the model type...didn't even know there were different ones. This was a gift from MIL. I will try to find out and maybe call Fisher Price like PP suggested. Thanks all!

Sorry for the delay in responding...life took a dramatic turn two days ago when my Dad decided to get engaged to a woman he met online and has only known for one month.  Not sure I have time to worry about a Jumperoo seat this week.

Ok, just looked it up...the model we have is the Discover 'n Grow Jumperoo - anybody have luck on making the seat spin easier for this model?
