August 2012 Moms

Serious case of the Mondays.

Gather 'round ladies and let me tell you a story about our day so far.

The day starts with DS deciding 4:45am is an appropriate time to start the day. H leaves or work at 5:30, so I take DS downstairs so his incessant crying doesn't wake his sister at this ungodly hour. After 90 minutes of intermittent crying and nursing, we both fall asleep on the couch (flame me for that later). I wake up to screams from my toddler at 8:30. I would be grateful for the sleep, but her speech therapist comes at 9. Fantastic. Needless to say, we are all in our jammies when she gets here.

Fast forward to mid morning when I get DD to stop whining with promises of baking cookies (her latest obsession is helping in the kitchen). I finally get DS off the boob and napping only to find that we have no eggs. Now I'm not sure how many of you know what it's like to lure a toddler with baked goods and then deny them at the last minute, but suffice to say it's not pretty.

I make the fateful decision to venture to the grocery store. What. Was. I. Thinking.

DD refused to sit in the cart, so I basically body slammed her into submission while DS tried to wiggle himself out of the moby. Then they both proceeded to scream throughout the store. I forgot to put a nursing tank on this morning, so I couldn't nurse DS without flashing the whole store a really attractive look at my stretch mark covered stomach. After we terrorized the whole store, DD refused to get out of the cart. God, I hate toddlers.

At least they're both napping now. Is it too early for mama to have a beer?!
