What size are you LOs wearing?

I am curious to see if I truly do have gigantic children...

For the sake of comparing apples to apples, let's talk Carter's and clothes that actually "fit" not too big, not too small.

Re: What size are you LOs wearing?

  • I chose 12 mo but she needs the length of the 18 mo pants sometimes.
  • Loading the player...
  • I voted 18 months.  But, she wears 12m pants, she's super short but needs 18 month shirts to cover her big belly, lol.  I really hope she starts gaining some inches soon.
  • We are in mostly 12 months but starting to move in some 18 month pieces

  • Mostly 12months.  I keep wanting to put her in the 18month clothes but they just fall off her little bottom.  She?s gotten good use out of the 12mon clothes (I?m tired of seeing her in the same outfit) and i hate to buy more when i know she'll grow out of it so soon.

  • I chose 2T.

Really 18mo fits fine as well but since Sophie is a skinny little thing and tall- she needs the length in the pants and the arms. 2T doesn't look big on her either

  • He usually grows out of PJs and shirts way earlier than pants, but right now is one of those rare times when he's actually in the same size for both - 18 months. But he can fit in a few 24 month jammies and onesies.

  • I went with 18 month.  Definitely nothing more than that.  She is a skinny girl though, so if she is in disposables, her pants hang precariously off of her tiny tush.

  • For the first time in his life, this is a hard question to answer!! I voted for 18m. For shirts, that's accurate. For pants...12m is a bit snug, but 18m is way too long but perfect in the waist. I just got a HUGE bag of used clothes for him and they are mostly 18m size.

Just got a bunch of fall stuff at Carters.nbsp; We got 12 month pants that are big and drag on the floor.nbsp; We bought 18 month tops for length but they are big and the sleeves need to be rolled up.nbsp; I just didn't want to buy 12 month tops and they be too short.nbsp; So voted for 12 but that doesn't mean much.

I could have wrote this word for word. She also still fits most 9month things but 12 month is a sure thing but I'm cheap and bought mostly 18, and kinda got screwed because the pants are Way too big and now I also had to get 12 month.

    Love your new siggy!!

This. LO is thin enough to wear 12m clothing, but her length fits better in 24m/2T. Ugh. So hard to find the right size right now! She is super skinny and tall (just like me. cough. not really! ha)

On average, I'd say she wears...
Pants- 18m, but can still fit 12m (just WAAAAAY too short)
Leggings- 2T/3T (as long as they're tight, length is perfect!)
    Tops- 18m/24m
    Dresses- 12m

She is 23ish lbs but is 34in tall, so I have to return a lot of things!

  • Pretty much all 18 mo clothes now.  We've tried a couple 24 mo sleepers for length because she's tall and on the skinny side, but they're still quite baggy otherwise.  Some of her 18 mo shirts are too short, as well, but still baggy in width.  This is the same clothing problem DH and I both have, though, so she's destined for the same, I'm afraid.

  • 18 month.

Shirts - 18 month for sure, but is starting to be able to wear 24 month/2T.

Pants - Can wear some of her 12 month, but the length is just right (probably won't fit anymore soon).  18 month fits too, but needs to be rolled up.

  • In Carter's brand, she is wearing size 24 months. She needs that size so that the shirts are long enough (the 18 month shirts recently became midriffs!). The pants are still quite long, though. She has a long torso and was in the 98th percentile for height at her 15 month check-up.

It's actually very annoying (to me) how variable the sizes are when switching between brands. I can't even find any size in Old Navy brand shirts that fits DD. Their shirts have tooth pick arms that are so long in the torso. It doesn't matter if I buy the next size up or not. They just plain don't fit her body type. I've start taking her into a fitting room and trying things on to save myself from having to make a special trip to exchange things! Sorry about my rant. :)

  • In Carters, she fits perfectly into 18M right now, though the pants are a little long.  However, in other brands she wears a lot of 24M and even 2T tops because she has quite the belly and most 18M tops aren't long enough.  But, she fits best into 12M pants.  So she's kind of all over the place.

  • Mostly 12 month clothes here, although there are some 6 and 9 month pieces still in circulation (short sleeve shirts and leggings that fit more like capris now but still look cute). I do have quite a bit of hand me down clothes for her in 18 months. The 18 month pants are huge but some of the tops are wearable if I roll the sleeves up.  I don't know if my friend's daughter had a growth spurt and blew through the 12 month size or what, but Maya ended up with 1 pair of 12 month jeans and seriously about 10 pairs of 18 month ones! I have to get to town and pick up some jeans!

  • I put 18 months because that's the median, but he can wear 12 month shirts still, while wearing 18 month pants.  MOst of his tops now are 18 months, but thankfully he can still wear 12.  Last weekend it got colder than I expected and I was freaking out that he didn't have any sweaters yet and we were leaving to meet friends for lunch in 10 minutes!  I had just switched out his clothes and still had everything sitting in a hamper in his room, knowing a sweater he wore in March was in there.  Still fit!  And I was estatic because I LOVE that sweater!

Needless to say I ran to Target the next day and bought a week's worth of sweaters!

  • she can wear even 6 months for tops but bottoms are hard to find. She's tall and in 18 to 24months in length but her waist is tiny. She's tall and skinny.

  • I don't buy a lot of Carters, but 18 months is pretty safe in most brands now.  I'm buying 24m/2T for winter clothes (snowsuits, etc.) to be safe.  Like pp's, I'd prefer to buy a size up and roll up the sleeves or legs for a while if need be, than buy a bunch of stuff in her current size and be out in the cold (literally) if/when the next growth spurt comes along.  Plus winter in Boston lasts forever, so she has 6 months to grow into all this stuff!

  • She's been in 24M/2T since she was about 12 months old. She's in all 2T shirts for length and she's chunky. She fits better in 24M pants though because 2T tend to be a little bit longer....and slimmer. ;)
