So, I used to be part of a group a long time ago that would do something called roses and thorns, and I thought it might be a neat way to catch up about our weekends. The rose is like the highlight, and the thorn is the low part.
Rose: I got some fluffy mail in on saturday, picked up some fabric to make wipes, and spent time with my family later that evening.
Thorn: Trace is having trouble breathing because of his cold/ croup. Making night time sleep almost nothing. Ive been up since 3am and have been on a coffee diet all weekend.

Rose:nbsp;nbsp; DH and I had a super productive weekend.nbsp; While I was finishing up painting our kitchen ceiling just finished a big DIY remodel, DH decided to pull up a corner of the hideous blue indoor/outdoor carpet in our office soon to be DS's room.nbsp; And look what we found underneath: The original 1950's hardwood floors.nbsp; So we ripped up the ugly carpet!Thorn:nbsp; While removing the tackstrips with a hammer and crowbar, I missed and hit my finger.nbsp; It's swollen and hurts like a btch.
LOVE the original hardwood floors.

rose: my dad and his girlfriend were here for a visit and I got a sitter on Saturday so we could have a kid free evening of drinks and dinner. I even wore high heels. Alert the media!
thorn: they left this morning, boo.

Roses: We went to our local fall festival/county fair on Friday evening and Saturday morning, and it was super fun! I got lots of cute pics of DS1 doing things like riding a pony and petting sheep. DH and I had a date night on Saturday--a first since DS2 was born. Then, DS2 slept super well on Saturday night. Yay weekend! Oh, and we're going to my parents' house to celebrate my brother's birthday tonight, and I'm super excited to hang out with my family.
Thorn: DS2 didn't make the easy falling asleep/sleeping well thing routine; he was back to himself last night.

Re: How'd your weekend go?
I'll start:
Thorn: We cleaned out my grandmother's house. She passed away right before Ellie was born, and Ellie was named after her. It was a tough day.
Rose: Ellie slept great this weekend! Saturday from 8:30-2, and Last night from 9:00-4:00. I feel great today!
Thorn: DHs family came to meet DD. they drove 1400 miles to spend seriously no time with us and they left 2 days early. DH is sad. I'm angry.
Rose: DH took time off of work to spend with said family. Instead we got some great quality time together with DD!
Thorn: Trace is having trouble breathing because of his cold/ croup. Making night time sleep almost nothing. Ive been up since 3am and have been on a coffee diet all weekend.

I second that, the floors look great!
