This isn't the first time this has happened.
I finished nursing Paula, and she zonked out almost completely after letting my boob fall out of her mouth. I put her in the RnP, which was right in front of me, and began to pump while using my foot to rock her into a deeper sleep.
Then DH came back in from taking the dogs out. We have a long apartment, and the floors are wood and creaky and the rugs don't do much to muffle the sound... the sound of two dogs barreling down the hallway and into the living room, since DH didn't shut the gate we have at the end of the hall. To add fuel to the fire he dumped their food into their metal bowls and it is very loud.
So, Paula woke up. I calmly called him in and informed him that since it happened again, he could get her to go back to sleep. That was an hour ago. I had her asleep, but no. So now I'm laying in bed, preparing to sleep for the next 4 or so hours, and he's up indefinitely. He has to be up for work in 4 hours but I can't do much about that. I've asked him to prevent the dogs from doing that and it just keeps happening, so my new rule is that whoever wakes the baby prematurely gets to put her back to sleep.
Re: Maybe one day DH will learn?
Sweet dreams.
Yes!! ESP if you pump too, he can feed her and get her to sleep. I'd use this rule too but sadly I'm the only one with boobs. Well not sadly but you know. Yeah. Sleep well girl.
