I feel like a horrible mom. We went to the pumpkin patch today and although DS was wearing a hat, he got sunburned on his face...his poor nose and cheeks are all red.
Our pedi said just to keep it moisturized and that there is nothing really that can be done for burns. Also to keep him hydrated.
He doesn't seem to be fazed by it...but I feel horrible! I'm so scared he's going to peel or get blisters, although I don't think he is burned so severe that that will happen.
How long before blisters usually appear? Any advice? My poor baby, I feel like a bad mom.
Re: I am a horrible mom...my baby has a sunburn.
Yup, horrible mom. Check out your local drug store, they sell this crazy stuff to prevent sunburns. It usually goes by Sunblock or Sunscreen.
Just a little harsh, Shoe.
I was just agreeing with her, and then offering some helpful advice.
For serious though. The posts where people are bemoaning being the worst mother evar are getting old. It's just asking for a bunch of affirmation that what you did is fine. If I can't agree with the OP, what's the point of the post?
FWIW, it was a cloudy day so we thought a brimmed hat would be all he needed. But this morning it doesn't look as horrible as I thought it did last night. He's just a little pink around his nose and top of his cheeks.
Anyways, thanks again!
And Shoe, I know I am not a horrible mother. At the time I felt like it though. I think you are still mad about the UO thing from a few weeks ago and so you are looking for any little thing you can...what did you call it in the UO thread? Oh yeah, ruffle feathers.
And so yes, I was looking for a little support from the ladies of this board, especially those who may have done the same thing as me.
Silly me for not expressing my intentions in the proper way as to have been properly conveyed by others.
I'll be more careful next time.
