We are painting the walls for baby a dark brown (like a chocolate brown) with green trim around the bottom of the wall/door too. I am wanting to paint a tree to go with our jungle theme on the wall. I wanted brown, but not sure if a lighter brown would look ok on the dark brown walls. The crib will be white and right by the tree. What do you all think? A light-ish brown, or a different color all together?
Also... I'm 24 weeks. Do most Dr. say it's still ok to paint at this point? I'm asking at my appt. Wednesday.. but I'm just so impatient! LOL
Re: Opinions on wall/tree color..
My doctor said I could paint at any time. He just recommended that the room be well ventilated. We also got some masks in the paint section at home depot just because the paint smell made me feel icky even though DH swears it had NO smell!
As far as picking paint colors, your best bet is to go in and get some paint chips. Take the color you want for the wall and the colors you think you want for the tree and overlay them. So you can get an idea of how they look. Also if you go with a light brown for the tree you probably want it with a primer in it, or the Dark brown wall will make the light brown darker. If that makes sense.
