Excited to cloth diaper but need advice

I've still got another 4 months before our baby girl, Julia, comes but there's so much to do and prepare for. I'm very excited to cloth diaper. How many newborn diapers should I start off with? What brands and types are your favorites? Do you have any tips or must-haves or must-dos? What's the best detergent to use?

Welcome! CDing is great...and addictive, at least for me! Have you checked the FAQ at the top of the page? There's a lot of information to get started there. For a newborn you'll want at least 24 diapers because you go through about 12 a day. I used MotherEase Sandy's fitteds for the first 12 weeks, and what I liked about them is that fitteds in general hold everything in so we didn't have any problems with poop-splosions.They were also pretty slim. I also really liked the Tots Bots/Bummis all in one for the newborns, I think they're the TinyFits. AIO are also DH friendly . Currently I'm loving my OS Bum Genius 4.0s. I hadn't checked the FAQs yet. I've been watching a lot of reviews and videos on youtube. I'm so excited. If I could I would probably buy a bunch of diapers now. I totally see how they can get addictive!

Oops, I meant for a newborn you want 3036 and after that at least 24!
