I think I have a thumb sucker on my hands. Boo. I was a thumb sucker and didnt stop til I was FOUR! Crap. Can take a binky away...not a thumb.

welll... no j/k. I am assuming you are talking about Addy and not Daxton? A just started hand sucking. He doesn't use the thumb, but on a couple of occasions now he has spit out the paci for the fist, and I really have no idea how to prevent it.

I sucked my thumb until I was 9. That's right...NINE. My mom tried everything; nail polish, hot pepper juice, that no bite nail polish, taking away the rabbit I carried around while sucking my thumb...I looped my pinky in the tag on it's butt and it just hung off my hand. Nothing worked. I spent the night at a friend's house and didn't want to get made fun of and never did it again.

Sergio sticks like four fingers in his mouth. Im always afraid he's going to make himself gag.

I sucked my thumb at night until 3rd grade and my dad was a dentist!! Very embarrassing for him more so than me. Lol. My dad tried it all toget me to stop. Retainers, socks on my hand at night, soap on my thumb. Nothing worked. I guess I just eventually grew out of it.

On a good note, with all that thumb sucking, I didn't have an overbite or any serious orthodontic problems. I was in braces for less than a year with a minor crossbite. I personally think babies look very cute while thumb sucking!!

I sucked my thumb until I was 8 and my mom had my dentist give me a retainer. I didn't need one but I didn't know that until I was in high school. I wore it for 3 months and never sucked my thumb again.

My guy we thought for sure would be a thumb sucker, then we got a binky and he very much prefers that to his hand, although they end up in his mouth still sometimes. 

I sucked my middle and ring finger until I was maybe 5.  I did need braces but only for 6 months.  Maybe see if she prefers those fingers instead?  Lol

On the plus side, you can't drop or lose a thumb, so you never have to worry about packing a spare!

Funny story that is not really related...my cousin's son sucked his thumb until he was like 7.  He was very paranoid about germs and would not hold anyone's hand with that hand that he sucked!  And he would stick it out all the time so it didn't touch anything!  The kid was 7!  Hahaha

Lo started sucking on his index finger. He will sometimes spit out the pacifier so he can do it! Hopefully this doesn't become a problem. My mom said I sucked on my fingers for about a year, then I just outgrew it.

DH sucked his thumb for 3 years, and he has no dental issues from it.

E sucks his whole fist. This morning he was basically making out with his palm. I hope it doesn't become a habit. Dh sucked his until he was 7.
