Hip dysplasia??

Our pedi is scheduling us an appoitment for a ultrasound on LO's hips. She noticed that there was an extra crease in one of his thighs. She said better safe than sorry so we are getting it checked out. Has anyone else gone through testing and been diagnosed with this and if so how is it treated?

Evie had an ultrasound for this because her left hip popped (she was breech,) but all was good, she didn't have it. So it may be nothing!

My daughter was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 4 days old.  They noticed an issue 2 hours after she was born, so we went for an ultrasound and they diagnosed her and put her in a harness the same day.  She has been wearing it now for almost 4 weeks.  It's called a Pavlik harness.  It's a bit of a pain, but it doesn't seem to bother her and hopefully she won't have to wear it longer than 8 weeks.  I think how long they wear it really depends on how severe their dysplasia is and how well the harness works.  Hopefully the ultrasound will come back clear and you won't have to worry about it.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
