Any tips for planning a vacaton????

So we have never gone on a "big" vacation.  We are going to try to get to Disney world in Jan/Feb.  I don't even know where to start w/airfair and hotels or anything.  I would also like the kids to see the ocean, who knows if we'll ever get back out that way.  If anyone has suggestions, I would be greatful!!!  TIA

Trip Advisor sometimes has sample itineraries.  Check some of the Disney vacation sites (not the ones hosted by Disney, the ones created by Disney enthusiasts) and see what they suggest based on the # of days you're going.  Either coast of FL isn't far from Orlando as well.  You could do a day trip or split your week up btwn Disney and the beach.

If you've never done it and you aren't familiar with the area, you can always go to a travel agent, at least for suggestions on where to stay, the route to take, which tickets to buy for the parks, etc.  If their prices on airfare or the hotel rooms are as good as what you can get on-line, tell them and they will usually work to get the price down so you book with them.  I normally hate dealing with travel agents (I can usually do it faster myself) but they can really help save you some time if you don't have a starting place.
