Gah!!! A bit TMI but I'm going nuts! Need advice...

Ok ladies,

I am currently experiencing a yeast infection, I'm guessing due to the relaxing bubble bath I took last week (not so relaxed now) I have purchased the monistat kit with the vaginal tablets but will only use the cream because I fear the tablet is not good for my growing daughter so instrad im going insane. Dr's have told me its ok to use these but everytime i go to use the tablet I chicken out. I need someone who has a baby and had gone through this scenario and used the monistat and everything was fine with baby. Its the 7 day kit btw.

 Help!

  • I got a yeast infection when I had DD, Dr prescribed a cream thats inserted like the tablets. I used it for 7 days and DD is fine, she's a healthy little girl toddling around the house as we speak.

    Does that help?

  • I've used the creams, not the inserts. The medicine in the inserts is still a cream, just less messy, and won't harm your baby. Just put it in, and go. You don't wanna keep any infection longer than you have to, and imagine the relief with the medicine!

  • I'm pretty sure the cream that comes with those is just to relieve the itch on the outer parts....there's no real medicine in it. Use the insert and get better--yeast infections are awful when you're not pregnant!! You don't need one more thing to deal with!

  • I've been having bad yeast infections this pregnancy and started taking a pearl probiotic (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V6O39Q/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00) and they cleared up instantly. Good luck!
  • Funny you should bring this up. I have never had one before and I am currently on an antibiotic and BOOM I got one. I called my doctor last night and he said over the counter monistat is fine. I use the one you shoot the cream up the vag before bed.....fingers crossed this works cause it is an awful feeling and I never want one again.

  • It's fine to use it!  I used it a couple of weeks ago, and everything is fine.  It's on my midwife's safe list.

  • I think they have an oral med now that is safe for prenancy and much less gross than messy creams. Call your OB and they should give you an RX
