OB/GYNO Northwestern Hospital, Chicago downtown

Hi everyone! I'm new to this website and new to pregnancy ( 6 weeks only preggo). I'm looking for a good OB/GYNO in Chicago area. I want to go to Northwestern Hospital  ( downtown Chicago) however my current OB only works with Evanston. Any suggestion which OB works with Northwestern? A good one?

Thanks

Jenny B.

  • Congrats on your pregnancy!  I go to Northwestern Specialists for Women.  It is an all women group and I have been pleased with them so far (I'm 16 weeks).  They deliver at Northwestern.

  • I go to NMPG (Northwestern Mutual Physicians Group). They are located on NW campus. I really like my OB there, Dr. Garvey. So far the rest of the OBs I have met, I really like as well.  They have portable ultrasound machines in the office and across the hall is the fancy ultrasound and their lab is in the office as well. I like I don't have to leave for all the tests and what not

  • I should be more clear, they are on the hospital's campus downtown. If I had to go to the hospital, I could technically walk, it's right there

  • I used Chicago Women's Health Group which is right next to the new Children's Hospital (which is right next to Prentice). My primary OB was Dr. Onia who I really liked. I say primary because you see one Dr. during your first 20 wks and then alternate between your Dr & the other Drs in the practice until you have met all of them. They do this so that you are familiar with everyone so that if you go into labor when your Dr isn't available, you still have someone that you know delivering you. Though I went the epidural route, they appeared to be very supportive of women who were chose to go Med Free.

     Congrats on your pregnancy!

  • Congrats!

I just moved here in May and found out we were pregnant in July, so I had no clue where to go. Luckily the ladies in my office recommended Chicago Women's Group. I love Dr. Kelsey and have seen Dr. Clinton as well. They are both great and very patient with me and my questions. I am over 35 and recently had the CVS done by a doctor they recommended. Dr. Clinton told me that after I had the procedure done if I was feeling freaked out and needed to see the baby to make sure everything was okay that I was more than welcome to call and schedule an ultrasound to get peace of mind. So far, I am very happy with my decision!

Hope that helps and good luck!

  • I use the Nye Partners, the office is on Michigan Ave but they deliver at Northwestern.  I have been extremely pleased with the care I have received.  Hope that helps.
  • I called Northwestern and they referred me to the NYE Partners (they deliver to both Northwestern and Rush).  I've only been there twice to confirm our pregnancy and for our 8 week ultrasound -- they have been great!

  • I go to the Women's Practice, at Michigan/Chicago. I really love love love all the doctors there (my primary doc is Norlin, she's fab) and the nurse practitioners, but some of the staff leaves a little to be desired, tbh. Still, I've had an overall great experience and obviously liked them enough to stay with them for #2. :)
  • congrats! I go to Lake shore OB- GYN at  680 N lake Shore drive. suite 824.  I See Dr Micah Garb. He is amazing. Ive been his pt for about 9 years, I am on my second pregnancy and due any time now. ( not soon enough, if you ask me.) anyways. there are 5 docs in his practice, they are all very nice, open minded and will be as laid back or as proactive as you like. they got me in yesterday within 3 hrs of calling with a minor concern that i had. hope that helps, good luck with your pregnancy

  • I'm at NMPG and my main Dr is McNair...love her!...so easy to talk with.  Have also really liked Dr Auger there as well.  Just finished my rounds, meeting all 9, and they are wonderful!
