Cervical Ripening

So I have had some ongoing issues with my blood pressure and protein levels in my urine. I've been borderline for pre-eclampsia for about 3-4 weeks now. My OB has me scheduled for an appt tomorrow and if my levels are still high, she is going to admit me and start inducing me. Last Thursday I was 1 cm, but haven't been checked for dilation since. My OB said she was going to start by ripening my cervix with a balloon. I read a little bit about it but was wondering if anyone has had this done or heard about it. Any thoughts? I'm a little nervous about this......

Great way to go. Some patients find it uncomfortable and other don't mind at all. Good luck!
