Bath time tips?

Anyone have any tips for bathing LO? We gave him his first submerged bath tonight and dedinitely have some learning to do! He cried his head off the whole time, pooped in the bath water twice and once while I held him as he water was being changed, and peed a nice arc in our bathroom after pooping until I got him aimed into the sink. Needless to say it was an experience!

LOL this made me laugh so hard. Honestly the boys hate the bath tub but they love their hair being washed. I do a quick was of their body put them on the towel dry them off real quick throw a diaper on then wash their hair to calm them down. Then I make them mad again by putting lotion on them. ;P

My LO likes to have her hair washed also. Usually, I bathe her in a room with dim lights. I warm it up in advance with my heater if the day is not hot. I make sure her bath towel and clean set of clothes is warm too! I just put a heating pad over them during the time that I'm bathing her. The key is to make it speedy.

If she's still crying while I'm dressing her, DH will give her Vitamin D drops for BF'd babies to distract her until I'm done. HTH!

So my Lo was the same. Every time I gave him a bath he screamed his head off but then I got some very helpful advise from another mom. Put a space heater in the bathroom and get it very warm in there. Then when you are getting your bath ready, fill the tub up nice and full so the water is to their chest (do not be afraid of this because you will be there to watch them the whole time) this will keep them warm in the water. We also have a sprayer hose in our bath and my LO loves it, so I place him in the warm water, slowly spray warm water over his body and head. Then I soap him up to one big bubble and then spray him off with warm water again. I spend alot of time rinsing him off because he loves it so much and keeps him so calm. It just takes time for babies to like baths I think! Hope this helps!

DD wasn't a fan of the sponge bath but now seems to like the bath in the kitchen sink. We use the sling that came with our tub. I set everything up including water temp prior to bringing her in so she's not sitting around. She hates to be naked so it has to be fast!

Best tips from a mom of 5 kids my mom, lol. Keep it short, wash body first, wet and wash hair last, use two towels for LO. One for the initial drying no more than a minute and a second one for the thorough drying, that way LO isn't in a wet towel for too long. Brownie points if the second towel is warm :]

Tag team with DH goes faster
And I've been slowly making the water warmer, finding the right temp made a huge difference!
