Spotting -UPDATED!

Someone please reassure me that everything could still be ok.

We were out this afternoon and when I went to the bathroom, I found that I had bled, enough to stain my underwear.  I promptly called the nurse hotline when we headed home.  I'm staying off my feet and drinking lots of water.  I've had a bit more blood when I wipe after going to the bathroom, but it's not bleeding enough to get on the pad and only the same kind of AF like cramps I've been having off and on all along.

Our first ultrasound is at 9:15 in the morning and I'm terrified that we are going to get bad news again.

Update:  We have one perfect little bebe measuring right on track with a heartbeat of 125. I'm scheduled to go back 10/12, but the RE said to call if the bleeding happened again and he would see me just for reassurance.  Thank you so much for giving me hope yesterday.  I may even add a ticker now.

Sorry you are going through this. I have had several bleeding episodes and spot just about every day since 6 weeks. I have a SCH and my MFM is very optimistic. She told me if red blood call her. In the meantime I'm on pelvic rest, no lifting, and stay hydrated.I have had a red blood episode as well, and it turned out fine.

Just want you to know that it is common and hang in there. It sucks, because it messes with your head but try not to panic.

((hugs)) like PP said, if it's red, definitley call.  And they'll probably tell you to rest and keep your feet up till your appt tomorrow.  Hope it all turns out ok!

I don't have any experience with this, but I just wanted to say I hope everything turns out okay.  In the meantime, try to stay as calm as possible.  I literally want to go in for a beta every single day to make sure I am pregnant still and my nurse told me stressing out is the worst thing that I could do for my body.  When I feel myself starting to freak out, I just say "Today I am pregnant" over and over and it helps.

I had red spotting at 5 weeks and 8 weeks.  Everything turned out fine.  I was told it was cervix sensitivity due to the crinone I was inserting.  I hope everything goes well tomorrow!

i had spotting and cramping and it turned out to be fine. since then i have restricted the amount of time on my feet, drank tons of water, and stopped inserting the prometrium quite so far (all advice from this board!) and that has gotten it to stop.

i also have a SCH so i know additional spotting may happen. gl tomorrow!

i started spotting about 2 days after my BFP.  it continued on and off until about 10 weeks... then i had more at 23 weeks and 25 weeks.  it obviously totally freaked me out, but things ended up working out.

I am really hoping that everything turns out ok for you. I had spotting around 7wks and then again around the 8wks mark. Freaked out both time because of the trouble with getting PG in the first place and both times the baby was perfectly fine. First time was just brown spotting, but the second one was red and scared me half to death. When my OB took a look at everything in the U/S he said that it was a late implantation bleeding and that I was fine. I've also heard of the possibility of having cervical bleeding due to sensitivity or capillary issues. So, try not to stress too much, relax, stay off your feet, and drink plenty of water. T&P definitely coming your way.

I don't really have any experience with this but as other ladies have said it seems like it's pretty common and could be something really minor.  Sending positive thoughts your way!  Please update us after your u/s!

Yes, I have had spotting since before my beta. On Friday we saw the heartbeat!! The U/S tech said that I have pockets of blood in my uterus and it is normal. The RE said that the placenta can continue to implant further into the lining hitting tiny blood vessels that will and can cause spotting through the first trimester. As long as you aren't filling a pad quickly (30 minutes to an hour) you are probably okay.

Just saw your siggy update in another post so went looking for this. So glad that everything worked out and you got great news!  You must be so happy to have seen the heartbeat!
